Carlsbad, CA – January 6, 2025 – Island Batik, renowned for its premium batik quilting fabrics, is proud to announce the launch of its new parent company, Lumin Fabrics. This strategic shift reflects Lumin Fabrics commitment to growth and innovation, with a mission to elevate the quilting community through diverse product offerings and exceptional fabric design.
As part of this expansion, Lumin Fabrics is also launching two new sister companies, White Owl Textiles and Ecco Cotton. White Owl Textiles specializes in high-quality printed fabrics, merging creative design with innovative techniques to deliver the industry’s finest print collections. Ecco Cotton is our new solids division, offering a range of the most sought after colors and utilizing the highest quality greige goods.Together, Island Batik, White Owl Textiles and Ecco Cotton will inspire creativity and provide quilters with an expanded range of premium fabrics.
Lumin Fabrics is also proud to welcome two exceptional industry professionals, Frank Cappiello and Danielle Triana, to spearhead the initiatives of its newly launched division, White Owl Textiles.
Frank Cappiello, formerly Executive Vice President with Robert Kaufman Fabrics, brings a wealth of experience in sales and operational leadership. His expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless integration of new products and processes. With over two-decades of experience in fabric design, Danielle Triana, formerly Creative Director for Wilmington Prints, has a proven track record of success in delivering innovative and inspiring fabrics to the market.
