Lumin Fabrics is the parent company of various fabric brands, all bringing innovative designs and creative sparks to quilters and sewers around the world.  With the desire to launch additional brands, the team at Island Batik launched Lumin Fabrics as our Parent Company, created White Owl Textiles to serve the print market and Ecco Cotton to provide the highest quality solid fabrics. Lumin Fabrics will continue to grow and offer fabrics for all your creative needs.

White Owl Textiles is the brainchild of the current team at Lumin Fabrics.  Danielle Triana, a fixture in the industry, is leading the creative group for White Owl, and brings with her a wealth of knowledge in the print space.

Lumin Fabrics is now your one stop go to for all your fabric needs. As the company grows, so will our amazing products, offering you more choices in designs and substrates. We will still have the same excellent customer service team known for invoicing accuracy and on time shipping!

Ecco Cotton is our new Solids line.  We are offering 50 of the most sought after colors in the highest quality greige goods.

Lumin is a combining form that means “light”. It’s derived from the Latin word Lumen, which also means “light”. 

Lumin is used in many words including:

Illuminate – to light up or make clear

Luminus – emitting or reflecting light, glowing or shining

The root Lumin – can also be used metaphorically to mean “bringing clarity to an idea”

We chose Lumin Fabrics as inspiration to weave brilliance into everyday life by delivering high-quality innovative textiles that spark creativity and provide fabrics that illuminate possibilities.

Our fabric is designed by highly skilled artists located in the United States and is printed on the best quality greige goods overseas.

Island Batik fabrics are available to order now! We have many fabrics that are in stock listed under Ship Today. Our seasonal collections are made to order with a 4-5 month turn around.

Ecco Cotton will be orderable in January. White Owl Textiles fabrics are being designed at this very moment and will be orderable in the near future.

Great question!  No, not at all; Island Batik is still owned and operated by the same great team that you have always known and loved, but is now a part of the growing family of brands offered by Lumin Fabrics.

Island Batik really wanted to not only continue to offer luxurious batiks, but also saw the need for innovative fabric designs and compelling textile substrates in the fabric world, which led to the launch of our sister brands, White Owl Textiles and Ecco Cotton!

Starting in Spring of 2025, our Strip Packs and Stacks are now bundled in units of 4, our Stamps are bundled in units of 6.  When buying one unit, you will receive either 4 or 6 precuts.  This includes fabrics from our Island Batik, White Owl Textiles and Ecco Cotton brands. Our Island Batik Basic gradation precuts are still sold as individual units of one.
