Do you remember the absolutely gorgeous Full Bloom BOM quilt by Barbara Persing and Mary Hoover at 4th and 6th Designs? It certainly stole many a quilter’s heart, not just because of its beauty, but the innovative technique that brought it to life. Among the many forms of appliqué was that of an edge-painted/coloring appliqué technique, based on a basic raw-edge glue basting without fusible materials. It truly served to found this quilt’s unique charm! This technique opens an entire world of creative possibilities, enabling the quilters to choose their favorite quilt patterns and embellish them with personalized appliqué designs.
We are excited to see our team of talented Ambassadors try this accessible and rewarding approach to transform their quilting projects into one-of-a-kind works of art with the fabric from our new Spring ’24 collections that will ship to your local quilt shops in September! To enhance the edge-painted/coloring appliqué technique, the Ambassadors will be using the thread generously provided by our friends at Aurifil to add a personal touch to their creations.
